Speech Services Niagara (SSN) is pleased to announce that they will be offering a Summer Family Literacy Program thanks to a generous grant received from the Niagara Prosperity Initiative in conjunction with Niagara Region.

SSN is offering the Family Emergent Literacy Program in July 2015, hosted at St. Alfred’s School in St. Catharines.  This program is for children who are in Full Day Kindergarten and who may require some additional support with their emergent literacy skills such as letter names and sounds or rhyming.  The program will be run by Speech Language Pathologists, Communicative Disorders Assistants and Emergent Literacy Consultants. There will be a parent component that will require a parent or caregiver to stay and participate in activities focused on fostering their child’s emergent literacy skills so that parents can see how they can help at home.
